On September 16, visitors will take part in a study visit to two prominent fruit production companies in the Republic of Moldova: Codru ST and PDG Fruits.
The first stop will be at Codru ST, an agricultural company recognized as the largest fruit producer in the country. Specializing in the cultivation, preservation, processing, and sale of fruits and planting material, Codru ST produces apples, plums, table grapes, and nuts, along with grape cuttings and seedlings for agricultural and horticultural use. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the company’s 300 hectares of super-intensive orchards, as well as its state-of-the-art fruit packaging center, which includes a packing room and an apple sorting line with a capacity of over 5,000 tons.
The second visit will take place at PDG Fruits, a company established in 2017, which focuses on the production, processing, storage, and marketing of fruits and vegetables. PDG Fruits manages plum and apple orchards, as well as multi-annual strawberry plantations in the villages of Păulești and Pitușca (Călărași district). Visitors will be able to see the company’s modern cold storage facility, which has a capacity of approximately 1,500 tons and is equipped for the long-term preservation of fresh produce.

Moldova as a Partner in Ukraine’s Recovery and Reconstruction
This side event within Moldova Business Week will focus on Moldova’s role as a partner in the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine. As part of Moldova Business Week 2025, from September 15–17, the Light Industry Employers’ Association (APIUS), in partnership with the Apparel Sourcing Club and with the support of the Innovate Moldova Program funded by Sweden, is organizing a program dedicated to international buyers in the textile industry.
The initiative is designed to facilitate direct interaction between buyers and Moldovan manufacturers through factory visits across the country and B2B sessions that showcase the competitiveness and potential of Moldova’s textile and apparel sector.
Moldovan factories are modern, competitive, and certified, meeting European Union standards and equipped with advanced technologies. They deliver high-quality, flexible, and sustainable products, making Moldova a trusted partner for leading European and global brands.
The opening session will include official speeches, the presentation of the
central theme “Moldova is Open for Business,” and contributions from
distinguished representatives, including Moldova Business Week (MBW),
Moldova Digital Summit, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in China,
the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce, and other international
partners.

The second public event of the Moldova | Fashion & Workwear Program takes participants to the northern city of Bălți, an important hub of the Moldovan textile and apparel industry. The program includes factory visits to Johannes Group (workwear), ENSGERN (outdoor jackets), and Coralav SRL / Illete (couture and high-end fashion).
The highlight of the day is a dedicated B2B session hosted by the Nortek Center, where local producers meet international buyers, investors, and partners. This visit provides a unique opportunity to explore cooperation in the TAFL sector, discover new brands, and build business connections in Moldova’s second-largest city.

This itinerary takes participants to the eastern part of Moldova, offering a closer look at the country’s knitwear and luxury apparel production. The program begins with a morning visit to Steaua Reds in Chișinău, one of the leading knitwear factories. Participants will then travel to Bender for a guided visit of Intercentre Lux SRL, a well-established manufacturer. After the lunch break, the group continues to Tiraspol to explore the company’s second facility, gaining insights into its full production cycle. The day concludes with the return to Chișinău.
This itinerary explores the southern region of Moldova, focusing on knitwear and high-quality apparel. The program starts with a morning visit to Steaua Reds in Chișinău. The group then travels to Comrat to discover Camilytex, a factory specializing in knitwear and ready-to-wear clothing. After lunch, the visit continues to Cahul with a stop at Tricon, a major player in the Moldovan textile industry, recognized for its modern production lines and exports to international markets. The day ends with the group’s return to Chișinău.

AML and Compliance International Conference – Regional and International Experience
The European Business Association (EBA), in partnership with the Banking Association for Central and Eastern Europe (BACEE), is proud to announce the first international AML and Compliance Conference to be held in the Republic of Moldova. This landmark event will take place on September 16th at the Republican Palace in Chișinău.
The conference will serve as a high-level platform for the exchange of regional and international best practices in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Compliance. These topics have gained increasing relevance once with the RM advancing on the EU Moldova Integration Agenda, legal harmonisation, legal screening and preparing for the negotiations with the EU
The event is specifically tailored for senior leaders and professionals from the financial sector, representatives of all reporting entities as defined by AML legislation, and high-level officials from central banks and financial market regulatory authorities.
In 2022, the Republic of Moldova was granted EU Candidate Status with the unanimous support of all 27 EU Member States. Formal accession negotiations with the European Union began in 2023, as endorsed by the European Council. As part of this accession process, Moldova has made significant strides in aligning its national legislation with the EU Acquis Communautaire, particularly in the financial sector.
Strengthening AML and compliance frameworks is not only vital for safeguarding national and regional financial stability, but also essential for reinforcing Moldova’s international credibility and fostering sustainable economic growth.
